1.Introduction
SD382 kerosene smoke point tester is designed and manufactured according to GB/T382-83 (91) "Kerosene smoke point determination method".

The kerosene and jet fuel smoke point wicks comply with GB/T382-2017 <<Kerosene and jet fuel smoke point determination method>>, ASTM D 1322-08 standard ASTM D1322 kerosene and aviation turbine fuel smoke point standard test method, used to determine the smoke point of kerosene and jet fuel for lamps.

The smoke point, also known as the smokeless flame height, refers to the maximum height of the smokeless flame when the sample is burned in a standard lamp under specified conditions, expressed in millimeters (mm). The sample oil burns in a standard lamp, and the change in the flame height is reflected on the millimeter scale background. When measuring, raise the wick to a smoky flame, and then lower it to a point where the smoke tail just disappears. The flame height at this point is the smoke point of the sample.

Ruler	The scale should be marked with white on black glass, with a 2 mm white or black stripe in the center dividing the scale vertically into two equal parts. The measuring range of the scale should be 50 mm, with a graduation of 1 mm. Numbers are marked every 10 mm, and longer markings are used every 5 mm.
Wick guide	The top of the wick guide tube should be exactly at the same level as the zero point on the scale.
Lifting seat	The total stroke distance should not be less than 10 mm, and the movement should be smooth and uniform.
Oil reservoir	The oil reservoir is mainly composed of the oil reservoir body, the wick tube and the air guide tube, etc. Its critical dimensions conform to GB/T382. The inner diameter of the oil reservoir body is Ф21.25±0.05, and the length is 109.0±0.05; the inner diameter of the wick tube is Ф4.7±0.05, and the length is 82.0±0.05;
