Introduction
The point light source detector is a specialized equipment used for inspecting the glass ribs of flat glass.
Working principle
When flat glass is exposed to a point light source at a certain distance and at a certain angle, some bright lines will appear on a certain plane behind the glass plate. The brighter the lines, the heavier the glass fibers within the glass. This instrument utilizes this principle. It uses the light source of a slide projector to illuminate the glass, places a screen behind the glass plate, adjusts the angle between the glass and the light, and observes the bright lines on the screen to determine the grade of the glass sample's glass fibers. The placement of the equipment is shown in the figure.
Operation method
1. Place the glass sample on.
2. Turn on the light switch.
3. Turn off the room lighting.
4. Adjust the angle of the glass support, observe the bright lines of the glass projected onto the screen, and determine the grade of the glass ribs.
5. Turn on the room lighting.
6. Turn off the light switch.
Remove the glass sample and place it properly.
