1. Introduction
The absorbability meter is designed according to the basic parameters and requirements specified in GB/T1540-2002 method for the determination of water absorption of paper and paperboard.This standard is applicable to the determination of various paper or board surface absorbency.However, it is not applicable to accurately evaluate the writing performance of paper or board.
Paper and board surface water absorption (Cobb) value: the amount of water absorbed on the surface of paper and board per unit area under certain pressure and temperature within a specified time, measured in g/square meter.
The specific formula is as follows: C= (G2-g1) ×100.Where: C- Blow-up water absorption value;G2-sample mass weighed after water absorption G1-Sample mass weighed before water absorption.Paper and board absorbability tester is a conventional instrument for surface absorbability test of paper and board, also called paper surface absorbability weight tester.This instrument adopts the Cobb test method among various methods of absorbability test, so it is also known as the absorbability tester.
