Introduction
The working principle of the PCXL0545 intelligent crude oil wax appearance point determination instrument: On the instrument, the crude oil sample is heated to a temperature above the wax appearance point, and then cooled at a certain rate. The differential heat flow of the sample and the reference substance at each temperature point is recorded. The differential heat flow is taken as the vertical coordinate and the temperature as the horizontal coordinate to draw the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) curve of the crude oil wax appearance. When the temperature drops through the wax appearance zone of the sample, the latent heat released by wax appearance causes a change in the differential heat flow, which is shown as a deviation from the baseline and the formation of an exothermic peak on the DSC curve. As the temperature continues to decrease, the heat released by wax appearance gradually decreases, and the differential heat flow also decreases. Finally, the curve returns to the baseline, indicating the end of the wax appearance process. The temperature at which the DSC curve begins to deviate from the baseline is regarded as the wax appearance point of the crude oil; the peak temperature of the curve is the wax appearance peak temperature of the crude oil; based on the heat released by the sample and its mass between Tc and 20 degrees, the wax appearance enthalpy ΔH of the crude oil is calculated; and the temperature range T1-T2 of the wax appearance peak is determined based on the heat values corresponding to each temperature on the curve when the average wax appearance enthalpy is reached or exceeded.
