Description
Samples in gaseous, liquid, or solid forms are introduced into the chromatographic (separation) column system via a vaporization chamber. Under the carrier gas , the mixture components flow through the column, where they are separated by interactions with the stationary phase. The separated components are then carried into a detection system, where non-electrical signals (e.g., chemical composition) are converted into electrical signals (current or voltage) proportional to their concentrations. These signals are recorded or processed by a data system for qualitative and quantitative analysis of the mixture components.
