The TABER wear testing machine (hereinafter referred to as the "instrument") is the most widely used instrument for durability testing of products in various countries. These products include plastics, paper, coatings, textiles, leather, and flooring, among others. It provides rapid and accurate testing methods for the research, development, and improvement of product quality of raw materials. These testing methods have been incorporated into numerous standards such as ASTM, ISO, NEMA, TAPPI, DIN, SAE, and JIS.
Main functional Principle:
The upper part of this instrument consists of a sample holder and a pair of wear wheels. The wear wheels are additionally equipped with counterweight weights. The motor rotates the sample holder, which in turn drives the wear wheels, causing friction between the wear wheels and the sample. After a certain number of friction operations, the instrument stops running, the sample is removed, and the degree of wear is observed to evaluate the wear resistance of the material, providing reference data for material selection.
