Standard Test for Dry Abrasion Resistance of Hydrophobic and Omniphobic Coatings", translated as 'Standard Test Method for Dry Abrasion Resistance of Hydrophobic and Omniphobic Coatings'. This standard specifies a method for testing the abrasion resistance of thin hydrophobic or oleophobic coatings (double hydrophobic coatings). These coatings are often used to enhance the resistance of a coated surface to handprinting, water removal, staining and easy cleaning. The ability of a coating to maintain its original properties after wear from environmental exposure is measured by comparing the difference between the initial contact angle and the contact angle after mechanical abrasion.
