Among the above refrigeration methods, vapor compression refrigeration is the most economical and most widely used refrigeration method, and it is also the most commonly used refrigeration method in environmental test equipment. The principle is to use the evaporation potential of environmentally friendly freon and other liquids to absorb heat from the cooled object and achieve refrigeration. (Single stage refrigeration cycle diagram) is a diagram of the vapor compression refrigeration cycle process. The liquid that is throttled into the evaporator by the expansion valve absorbs the latent heat of evaporation from the surrounding objects and evaporates. After evaporation, it becomes a low-temperature and low-pressure gas that is inhaled by the refrigeration compressor. After being compressed by the compressor, it becomes a high-temperature and high-pressure gas into the water-cooled or air-cooled condenser, where it is cooled into a high-pressure liquid, and then enters the evaporator through the expansion valve. This cycle is repeated, absorbing heat from the low temperature to achieve cooling, and then releasing heat from the high temperature. In the refrigeration cycle shown (single-stage refrigeration cycle diagram), a change from one state to another is called a process. There are four processes in the refrigeration cycle. The following is a brief description of four processes in the refrigeration cycle.

(1) Evaporation process: through the expansion of the low pressure wet steam after throttling, in the evaporator from the surrounding medium heat absorption refrigeration, and gradually increase its dryness. In this way, the gas coming out of the evaporator has become dry saturated steam or slightly superheated steam. During evaporation, the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant remain unchanged.

(2) compression process: after the completion of refrigeration, the vapor from the evaporator enters the refrigerator, and after compression, the temperature and pressure rise sharply. Therefore, the gas discharged by the refrigerator becomes a hot steam with higher superheat. During the compression process, the entropy of the refrigerant remains unchanged.

(3) Condensation process: the high temperature and high pressure superheated vapor discharged from the refrigerator enters the condenser for heat exchange with cooling water or air, so that the superheated vapor gradually becomes saturated vapor, and then becomes saturated liquid. (4) throttling process: the liquid from the condenser is throttled through the expansion valve or capillary and other throttling devices to become low-temperature and low-pressure wet steam, and the enthalpy value of the refrigerant is unchanged during the throttling process.

   
The above four cycle processes are continuously circulated in turn to achieve the purpose of refrigeration. In order to complete the thermodynamic process of the refrigeration cycle, it is necessary to compose the compressor, heat exchanger, pipeline, pipeline accessories, etc. - a system, the system is called the refrigeration system. Single-stage compression refrigeration means that the refrigerant vapor is only compressed once, and its minimum evaporation temperature can be controlled at -30 ° C ~-40 ° C. When a lower test temperature is needed, a cascade refrigeration system is usually used, that is, two single-stage compression refrigeration systems are stacked together. One system is the high temperature part, using the medium temperature refrigerant; the other system is the low temperature part, using the low temperature refrigerant.
